I Was Planning A Small Solo Excursion In Dartmoor. First Night The Weather Changed Brought Strong Wind And Driving Rain. And At 11pm I Thought To My Self All Snuggy Up In My Sleeping Bag, \"i'm Glad I Have This Trusty Tent.\" ... Then ... Drip Drip, Right On My Face. Apparently The Small Elastic Band That Would Be Used To Secure Open The Window Flaps (note Windows Were Not Open) Started To Funnel Water Into The Tent. ... If Only That Were It. Ha. Water Began To Be Channeled Into The Tent Through The Floor Seam. Also The Walls Were Saturated And Water Penetrated The Walls As Well. Puddles Of Water Collected Inside The Tent. I Used A Hand Towel And Two Shirts To Absorb The Water Then Squeezed It Outside. The Rain Was Not A Heavy Rain At All, Just An Average Rain And It Would Be Expected That A Tent Would Protect From This. This Continued For The Rest Of The Night. The Tent Is Not All Bad. It Held Up Extremely Well In Wind, And The Vestibule Was Amazing And Save My Gear. The Tent Was Also Very Warm. I Have No Idea About This Tent's Functionality In Alpine Conditions, Snow, Etc. And Reading Other Reviews, It Appears That's What It's Made For. So I'm Commenting Only On My Experience... If You Are Going On A Camping Trip Where There Will Be Lots Of Rain, Do Not Get This Tent."],"source":"http://www.backcountry.com/the-north-face-assault-2-tent-2-person-4-season"}} |
